Candle and Melts Care

Candles

How to use a candle?

When lighting a candle for the first time, we recommend letting it burn for the maximum of four hours, allowing the entire upper layer of wax to melt—the perfume has now reached its optimal diffusion potential. This step will ensure a long and even burn in the future. Allow the candle to solidify before subsequent use.
Use a candle snuffer or blow out your candle after a maximum of 4 hours burn time.
Before each burn, clean the remaining wax away from the inner container walls. Wiping off any excess wax residue will prevent further tunneling.
Long candle wicks that had fallen into the molten wax may create an unpleasant smell. Trimming it will help your candle last longer and smell fresh every time, ensuring an even burn. Make sure to keep the candle’s wick at approximately 6mm.

Wax melts

What is a wax melt?

A wax melt is a different form of a candle, except this form is not being lit by a wick. It is a piece of wax which is fragranced by a particular scent, just like a candle. To use wax melts, a wax burner or melter is needed. A 'snap bar' contains five blocks which can easily be snapped for usage:

How to use a wax melt?

Simply remove the snap bar of melts from the packaging or container, break off the desired amount of wax and place in the top of your melter.
The wax will melt slowly in the dish as it heats up and releases the fragrance.
When the tea light has been extinguished, or the melter has been turned off, the wax will re-harden, ready for use next time.
You can reuse the wax several times until the fragrance has completely dispersed.

How to change the wax in your melter?

When the scent has completely dispersed, the wax can be replaced by a new piece of wax. there are two methods when changing the wax:

1. When the wax is fully melted, put out the burner. Put some cotton wool pads or balls/tissue paper in the wax. These will soak up the wax. Use a new pad to clean the the bowl and the burner is ready for its new wax melt.

2. Put out the burner, let the wax dry fully and relight the burner. After about 10 to 30 seconds you can easily scoop out the wax as the bottom layer is melted. Clean some excessive wax with some cotton wool pads/tissue paper and the burner is ready for its new wax melt.

DO NOT pour down the plughole (the wax will harden and cause a blockage)!!!

Important safety issues

  • Keep melted wax away from children and pets
  • Always use within sight and never unattended.
  • Always insure that you do not overfill your bowl.
  • Wax will remain hot after the candle, tea light has been extinguished or your burner has been switched off.
  • Do not try to move the candle, oil burner or wax melter until it has cooled completely and the wax has solidified.
  • Do not add water or fragrance oil to the bowl or candle under any circumstances.
  • Keep wax clear of debris.
  • Only ever use unscented tea lights.
  • Only use standard sized tea lights (burn time is approx. 4 hours.) Never use the larger 8 hour tea lights!
  • Never use more than one tea light at a time.
  • Ensure that the surface under the candle or melter is heatproof.
  • Do not eat!
  • Please dispose of the wax carefully. DO NOT pour down the plughole (the wax will harden and cause a blockage)!!!
  • Please do not place your burner in the freezer. This can cause the wax melter or the top glass to fracture and could cause the burner to become unsafe.
